Here She Is...

Maybe you can see potential, too?
It's not much and it was built in the 1960's (with original single-paned, non-opening windows AND brown wood paneling) and is in desperate need of some major updates but, despite all of that, I really do love it. Here is another view from farther away, taken at dusk.

To paint the brick or to leave the brick... I'd also love to do something about those eye-sore gutters, too.

Being short on cash, we cannot fix some of the most abhorrent of problems, like the popcorn ceilings in every room (even the closets) or the wall to wall carpet that stretches from the living room to each of the bedrooms, without a seam in sight (no idea how that happened) and we definitely cannot replace the pink tub and sink in our only bathroom... the list is endless of what we would love to do but cannot yet. But let's focus on the stuff that we DID do. We did get to painting early on, thanks to my boyfriend's sister and her boyfriend. We actually had the whole place de-wallpapered and painted in under a week... although I had to re-paint the kitchen. We are also working on replacing the windows since there was a sweet tax break in it for us.

Painting pictures to come soon!

Welcome

Welcome.

I recently bought a house with my boyfriend in Sunny California. We are trying to update and decorate every inch of our home in the most economical and eco-friendly way possible. I’m not sure what my style is, what my boyfriend's style is or how the house will come together when it’s finished but I plan on documenting the results and the changes that we have made.
